Paired with a complex, dry Riesling from Germany by Seebrich Oelberg

Wonton Nachos
with jack cheese, black beans, salsa fresca, crema

Paired with a French blend from Michel Gassier

Blackened Tuna
with roasted tomato, goat cheese, grits

Paired with St. Kilda Chardonnay from Australia

Red Wine Menu:

Blue Corn Tamales
with braised pork and ranchero sauce

Pairs wonderfully with a lovely Bordeaux that is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet

BBQ Glazed Salmon
with grilled potatoes, garlic, & kale

Paired with another French blend that is similar to Chateau Neuf de Pape by Michel Gassier

Local Wild Mushroom & Steak Risotto
with chanterelles, oysters, polypores, and red wine redux

Paired with Tessellae of Southern France with has a touch of white to add to its complexity

Paired with Charles Smith, Chardonnay, Washington


Red Pairings:


Local Greens  –  watercress, leaf, baby romaine, blue cheese vinaigrette, bacon

Paired with Santa Barbara, Pinot Noir, California


Spinach Cannelloni  –  ricotta, herbs, marinara

Paired with Mocali, Rosso Toscano, Italy

Check out these gorgeous selections for tonight!The Michel Gassier blend of Grenache, Carignan, Mourvedre, Cinsault, and Syrah has great acidity and enough tannins to pair well with our steak kabobs tonight.

La Closerie des Lys 2013 Pinot Noir starts off with a wonderful nose to intice your awaiting tongue.  Light as a feather but flavorful, this will be a match made in heaven for our first heirloom tomatoes of the season.

The “Volpare” Valpolicella is the same blend of grapes used in Amarone wines, just not dried.  This bargain wine has richness, fruit, and refined tannins which make this wine fantastic on its own or paired with a classic Italian dish.

What a busy April we had! Thanks to all the many folks from all over the continent that stayed with us over the past several weeks. A special thanks to those of you who took the time to chat with the staff. It is a great treat to all of us to create long lasting relationships with our guests. And a REALLY big thanks to those of you who were so generous with the many gifts we received from very thoughtful folks. You truly spoil us!

Wine Down Thursdays continue to be our busiest day of the week. This has been a local haunt as they know the great value of food and wine that we provide weekly.  It isn’t just our wine lovers, either. We have just as many people ordering from our new dinner menu as we have ordering from our wine pairing menus. It is always a great time no matter how you decide to eat on Thursdays. Tell a friend how much fun we are having up here on Groundhog Mountain. They’ll be glad they came.

Next week is Mother’s Day! What better way to show Mom how much you love her than to take her to Maples Restaurant at Olde Mill for a delicious brunch?! Even my mother is flying in from Chicago for this one. Be sure to get your reservations in soon, as this event always packs the house.
