Mid Summer

Here we are half way through July already.  If you haven’t made it up the mountain yet this year, what are you waiting for?!!  We are enjoying temperatures at least ten degrees cooler than in the low lying areas and we have that refreshing breeze to keep you refreshed.  Lots to do up here.  Our Camp Groundhog will be starting next Monday.  Don’t let your little ones miss any of the fun.  Tennis, golf, swimming, kick ball, cooking classes, hay rides, etc., are all in a day’s work for the kids.  Fun for all.  Our Wine Wednesdays are a great way to break up the work week.  At only $28 for a three course dinner with three wine tastings, you can’t go wrong.  Friday nights we have live music from some of the most talented people in the area.  Seafood Feast and Italian Night alternate every other Friday.  These are two of the biggest nights to dine and enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountain living.  Come bike the back roads or hike one of the many trails in the area.  This is the best time of the year for doing anything outdoors, and that includes just chilling on our huge deck sipping on a cold drink!

2011-07-02_16-59-54_9502011-07-02_15-59-33_620What a perfect day!  Thanks to all who came out…all 900 of you.  So much to talk about.  The music was great.  Three groups who all brought a different flair while bringing our guests to their feet.  The arts and crafts were a great addition to the Independence Day celebration.  My mother scored on some beautiful pottery to take back to her Chicago home.  What about that kids play area?!  Huge waterslides and hayrides, too.  That spawned a bunch of smiling faces.  The food, pool, and fireworks rounded out an epic day (and night).  This has become a premiere event for our community.  It is exciting to see the growth of this celebration.  We already have some great additions to next year’s gathering.  I do hope to see you all plus some new faces, too.  This is mountain living at it’s finest.
